Getting Started with TVGO
Setting up TVGO takes less than five minutes. Once you're done, you'll never reach for that old plastic remote again. Here's everything you need to get your phone talking to your Android TV.
What You'll Need
- An Android phone running Android 8.0 or later
- An Android TV or Google TV device on the same Wi-Fi network
- The TVGO app installed from the Google Play Store
Step 1: Install TVGO
Open the Google Play Store on your phone and search for TVGO. Tap Install and wait for the download to finish. Launch the app once it's ready.
Step 2: Connect to Your TV
Make sure your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network. TVGO will automatically scan for nearby Android TV devices. When your TV appears in the list, tap it to connect. You may see a pairing code on your TV screen — just confirm it on your phone.
Step 3: Explore the Remote
Once connected, you'll see the virtual remote interface. Swipe the touchpad to navigate, tap to select, and use the on-screen buttons for Home, Back, and Volume. Try opening the keyboard to search for a show — it's dramatically faster than the on-screen keyboard.
Step 4: Set Up Quick Launch
Head to the Quick Launch section to pin your favorite streaming apps. One tap opens Netflix, YouTube, or any app directly on your TV without scrolling through menus.
